Giovanni Giaretta is an artist and filmmakers. His practice involves mainly moving images, installation and some writings. As "collages", his works are the result of a research process that aims to relate images, texts and sounds. They lead reality to be overwhelmed by surreal, dreamlike and unusual elements. 

After a Master's Degree in Visual Arts Production and Media Design at the IUAV in Venice, he took part in the residency program at De Ateliers in Amsterdam. He has exhibited in several exhibitions in Italy and abroad and his videos have been projected in many international Film Festivals such as the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (Rotterdam, NL), the IDFA, International Film Festival of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, NL) and the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Germany.

He is Lecturer in History Of Moving Images and also teaches in the Fine Art Department at AKI Academy of Art & Design.
